About the Limassol International Book Fair Conference

The Limassol International Book Fair Conference is the international professional programme of the 3rd Limassol International Book Fair (22-24 November 2024), and will take place on Friday, November 22nd, the first day of the Fair. At Limassol International Book Fair Conference 2024, a unique professional event for the book industry organized in Cyprus, publishers, booksellers, authors, librarians and book professionals from around Cyprus, together with book professionals from Greece, Europe and the Arab world, will meet again to discuss local, regional and international challenges and opportunities.
Following the success of our first two iterations, the Limassol International Book Fair Conference 2024 expands the dialogue on the role of national libraries and of Cyprus Library and the importance of Cypriot libraries for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the promotion of digital skills, continues its segment by segment contribution to the capacity building of the Cypriot book industry covering extensively digital marketing and artificial intelligence, dives deeper into the opportunities for growth provided by literary exchanges and translation rights in Europe and the Arab world and advocates for the impact and empowerment of women in the book industry.
Our extended programme of talks, Q&As and panel discussions followed by a cocktail reception will provide ample opportunities to inform, to inspire and to network. This year we inaugurate our first B2B Space, a dedicated space for professional meetings at the Book Fair grounds, and we launch Limassol Networking Meetings @ B2B Space, a chance to sit down and discuss more informally with our invited book professionals at a dedicated time slot, while we continue our partnerships with the Cyprus Association of Librarians – Information Scientists (CALIS), the University of Nicosia Library and Creative Europe Desk Cyprus.

Organisation and Curation
The Limassol International Book Fair Conference is organised by the Limassol International Book Fair and Thinking, a company with 15 years experience in providing services and solutions for the book and culture industry, and is curated by Michalis Kalamaras and Giorgos Papanagiotou.
The sessions “The role of Cypriot libraries today: National Libraries, Digital Skills, Sustainable Development” are co-organised with Cyprus Association of Librarians – Information Scientists (CALIS) and the University of Nicosia Library. The sessions “Digital marketing for publishers, booksellers and authors”, “Women in the book industry: Impact and empowerment ”, “Literary exchanges and translation in Europe and in the Arab world” and “Book publishing and Artificial Intelligence” are co-organised with Creative Europe Desk Cyprus.
